Meeting Your Family In Al-Barzakh After Death

In "al-Barzakh", which is the period of life after death like in the grave, the pious believer will enjoy the grave. He will have light and vegetation in it, and it will be widened for him. Some special believers do read Qur'an and pray while in the grave. Also all the Prophets are alive in their graves, praying as the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: "Prophets are alive in their graves praying". narrated al-Bayhaqiy.

Barzakh (Arabic: برزخ, from Persian barzakh, "barrier, partition") is an Arabic word meaning "obstacle", "hindrance", "separation", or "barrier". In Islamic eschatology, although largely up to interpretation, al-Barzakh is generally viewed as the barrier between the physical and spiritual worlds. Barzakh designates a place between hell and heaven, where the soul resides after death, and experiences his own heaven or hell, until the resurrection on Qiyamah (Judgement Day).
